Their service overall was terrific! Prompt replies to emails, quick deliveries (which during this time of Covid-19, is amazing) - nothing was too much trouble. I will certainly be going through Ranzprint again."

FAQs
Here are some book print and binding tips to help
What format of print file we accept at RanzPrint?
Portable Document Format (PDF)
A PDF ensures that your printed or viewed file retains the formatting that you intended. Please ensure that your PDF preference is set for press quality. This will ensure that fonts and images are embedded and that no data loss occurs during the printing process. All files should be sent through at 300dpi (preferred) as a minimum. Maximum 450-600 dpi. For the best results with photos, under 150dpi is not advised. 300dpi is better. If you are using Adobe Indesign to design your book, please ensure that the internal text pages are not sent through as spreads. Covers must be supplied as a single PDF, not as 3 pages such as back cover, spine and front cover. To work out the size of your cover, please use our cover and spine width calulator.
HOW TO SAVE AS PDF ON YOUR COMPUTER
To send a PDF for printing, you MUST save the fonts you used in the PDF, so the document looks exactly the same on our machine as it does on your computer. Here’s how to do it:
Mac Word
Word>Preferences>Save>Font embedding check (tick) “Embed fonts in the file" and uncheck “Only embed the characters used in the file”.
The difference is only about 100kB and the possibility of missing one is a risk.
PC Word
File>Options>Save>Preserve fidelity when sharing this document: then check “Embed fonts in the file” and uncheck the following two options ("Embed only the characters used…” and “Do not embed common system fonts”)
What are bleed and Slug settings in Adobe InDesign?
These settings are commonly used when you setup your file size using Adobe InDesign:
First, set your documents up correcty. Go to File>Document Setup, and specify your document width and heigh. This is the actual finished size of your prinited piece. In other words, this is the acutal size the document will be trimmed down to once it's printed and trimmed. Now set your bleed up at 3mm for all edges, and set your slug up at 10mm for all edges. Slug is often overlooked but is really important for when you finally export your documents to a PDF - you will see why shortly.
Save your document set up settings and your should now notice your have a page view that shows a black line around your page - this is the finished page size. Image that when printed, your design is going to get trimmed on this black line - anything outside the black line gets trimmed off. You should also see a red line. This is the bleed line. If you have any background images or background colour, the image or block of colour cannot just finish on the trim line, but instead, it must extend past the trim line by 3mm (all the way to the red line).
Onnce you have created your design, your last step is to export the document as a PDF. If you are outputting to print, a resolution of 350dip is more than enough resolution for your images. Your text and vector objects won't be affected by the resolution setting (they will come out perfectly sharp regardless of the resolution).

What is an Endpapers for Case Bound Books?
Endpapers For Case Bound Books
The endpapers or end-papers of a book (also known as the endsheets) are the pages that consist of a double-size sheet folded, with one half pasted against an inside cover (the pastedown), and the other serving as the first free page (the free endpaper or flyleaf). Thus, the front endpapers precede the title page and the test, whereas the back endpapers follow the text. They have a decorative purpose too. When combined harmoniously with a book's covering material and its headbands, they contribute to the overall aesthetic design.
